Praise God for Pope Benedict XVI.  A holy man, true to the Catholic Faith is a blessing to His Church.  Believing that the election of a Pope is guided by the Holy Spirit, what message can we Roman Catholics take from this great event?

 

First, that the greatest struggle of our time is not what the secular authorities say it is (social security, discrimination, the war on terror, etc.) but it is the defense and spreading of the Roman Catholic Faith.  The root of all problems in society, as evidenced in a devastated Europe and a declining America, is a falling away from Him and from the Roman Catholic Faith which is the truth as revealed by the Holy Spirit--something Christ promised at the Last Supper. 

 

Second, that World War II is over and that the German people must end their imposed self-hatred.  It is time for them to take their seat proudly at the table with all other Roman Catholic peoples, and, with Pope Benedict XVI, to help lead all of humanity to the Faith.

 

Finally, it signifies that the time is now to rebuild society in the image of the way of life set forth by the Faith.  As a result of the horrors of the last century and the growth of euthanasia, cloning, stem-cell research, vast economic disparities, war, hedonism, and more, we must be honest with ourselves and realize that the only secure, happy, prosperous, and good society is one that is based on the Faith.  Everything else ultimately leads to ruin.

 

So, let us join with Pope Benedict XVI, the saints and martyrs, the angels, and Christ Himself in building a Roman Catholic society.
