What was most disturbing about The DaVinci Code was the reaction of some educated “Catholics” when I told them my opinions about it. They stated: "It's just fiction! What's the big deal? It's only a movie!" One particularly "open minded" woman said that I had "made up my mind" about the film - implying my close-mindedness - before I viewed it. After thinking about this statement, it occurred to me that this person's mind was made up about me before really listening what I had to say. This reminds me of the double-speak defined in Orwell's 1984. What is going on in popular discourse is the politically correct preaching non-judgmentalism, tolerance, and open-mindedness while sternly judging, being intolerant, and closing their minds.

            If the masses can discern fiction from fact, as was implied by my fellow “Catholics,” then why has the illegitimacy, murder, and crime rates in the United States exploded proportionally with the ever-increasing glorification of sex-out-of-wedlock, homosexuality, violence, and sociopathic behavior espoused in Hollywood and Madison Avenue? If television, movies, and the media are harmless and do not affect people’s thinking, attitude, and actions; why is it that the first thing America did when it invaded Iraq was to seize the television stations and newspapers? The Communists in China, U.S.S.R., Vietnam, and Cambodia did the same thing when they captured, then raped these countries. The Reds murdered over 100 million humans - a fact which the mainstream media obfuscates. The Nazis also seized the media when they rose to power. The argument that "it's only a movie" or "it's just fiction" does not hold up when someone understands the nature of thought control and propaganda.

            The anti-Christian ruling elites controlling the media in the United States understand brainwashing, propaganda, psychological warfare, subliminal messages, and manipulating public opinion. This is how these greedy and grasping moguls make fortunes. They have perfected brainwashing and controlling the minds of most Americans since World War II. For example, look at how they spout the modern commandments of tolerance, open-mindedness, and nonjudgmentalism while grossly indulging in these sins they condemn; the people in the United States blindly follow while failing to notice the elite’s hypocrisy.

            The media attacks in America against all forms Christianity, especially the Roman Catholic Church, have become more virulent and outrageous. For instance, Christians have been shamed for saying "Merry Christmas!" during the Christmas season. Additionally, the media, which promotes sodomy, condemns Catholic clergy for what it calls a "pedophilia" scandal but refuses to acknowledge the overwhelmingly homosexual aspect of it. Christians are routinely portrayed in subtle and overt manners as bigoted, narrow minded, and intolerant - particularly in the movies.

The DaVinci Code is a retaliatory strike by Hollywood as a payback to Mel Gibson. The gloves are off against Christianity, especially the Catholic Church. Gibson will never be forgiven by the anti-Christs in Hollywood for having the gall to make The Passion of the Christ.  Bigots who never saw it were smudging it as religiously bigoted (Orwellian double-speak) in hysterical, knee-jerk fashion. Gibson was denied funding. He received incredible amounts of hate-filled invective from people who promote tolerance, diversity, and multiculturalism, which in "Hollywoodspeak" only applies to how Christians are supposed to think and act. Gibson eventually funded the film with his own money. Attempts were made in the movie industry to stop distribution of the Passion and ban it from theatres. Undaunted, Gibson was figuring out a way to distribute it and show the film - in churches if necessary - and the motion picture industry knew it. Smelling a buck, movie distributors allowed it to be presented to audiences in theatres across America. It was the blockbuster of the century, grossing over $350 million in the United States and over $700 million in videotape/DVD and theatre sales worldwide. It is still being sold on videotape/DVD and probably always will be. Hubristic pundits had the audacity to state that Gibson knew it would be a money maker. They said that making a huge profit was the only reason he produced the film. The final slap in the face Hollywood leveled at The Passion of the Christ was refusing to grant it the cinematic awards and nominations it was due. The word conspiracy adequately describes how Hollywood tried to stifle Gibson’s work of faith.

Many of the “Catholics,” who say that The DaVinci Code is “only a movie” and demand tolerance of it, have condemned Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ. Obviously, tolerance is a virtue which they do not practice, since they are intolerant, close-minded, and judgmental of Gibson’s film, which most have never seen and will probably never view.

There really is not much to The DaVinci Code; it is a tedious movie to watch.  The one clear theme in the film is its hatred of the Catholic Church, which is shown as a brutal, murderous, dishonest, immoral, hypocritical, sadistic, and misogynistic institution. This movie is designed to plant negative seeds in viewer’s minds about Catholicism and Christianity, especially in people who have little or no familiarity with Catholicism and Christianity.

Specifically, The DaVinci Code teaches the audience that: the Crusades were genocide to cover up the truth about Jesus and Mary Magdalene breeding a child which was born after Jesus was murdered; the Catholic Church butchered over 50,000 virtuous women under the false pretense of witchcraft; the patriarchal structure in the Catholic Church was not intended by Jesus; Mary Magdalene - not Peter - was Jesus’ successor (first pope); the Bible is a sham with much Christian truth deliberately omitted from it; the Church is involved with murdering people, to include Jesus’ and Mary Magdalene’s descendants; Opus Dei is a fanatical, right-wing terrorist society bent on slaughtering its enemies; there is an internal, on-going struggle up to the highest echelons in the Church, to suppress the truth about Jesus and Mary Magdalene; flagellation, self-mutilation, and purging of the flesh are still practiced and condoned in Catholicism; the Catholic clergy are greedy, power hungry, mendacious, and will do anything to cover up the truth; Jesus is just a famous man - His divinity is questionable.

Ron Howard is one of the most respected directors in Hollywood. A Beautiful Mind and Apollo 13 were edifying works of art that he made. Tom Hanks is arguably the most recognized leading man in Hollywood who connects well with most Americans.  Until now, indulging in blatant controversy was not their modus operandi. Since a controversial movie which viciously assaults the tenets of the world’s largest Christian denomination and Christianity in general does not fit the professional character of either of these two men, it begs the question: was the making of this movie their idea or someone else’s?

It was an ordeal sitting through The DaVinci Code. Judging from the sparse crowd, it appears the word is out about how wretched this film is. A movie connoisseur I went to view this movie with succinctly summed it up: “It’s stupid and it stinks!”

If this film was “just fiction” and if Hollywood is trying to be tolerant, as it preaches, then why was a disclaimer about this film being fiction and insulting toward Catholics and Christians not made prior to and at the end of the movie? Is being “sensitive” one of the virtues the tolerant, open-minded, and politically correct crowd demand of Christians, particularly Roman Catholics? Why does Hollywood not show the same “sensitivity” by making films that crudely insult and blaspheme other faiths: Islam, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Shintoism?

Maybe the reason Moslems riot about blasphemies against their religion by the medias in "democratic" countries in Europe is they know their salvation and the eternal existence of their children depends on their beliefs in Allah and Mohammed. The exploding populations in the Islamic world have not been brainwashed and desensitized like the sterilized, aborted, contracepted, and ever-declining populations in what was formerly Christendom. Even Moslems note that The DaVinci Code is sacrilegious and vile. Maybe the reason “Catholics” and “Christians” state that this is “just a movie” is that they do not really believe anything, to include: Heaven, Hell, salvation, and damnation for themselves or their offspring.
